So all year i've been fuckin with my SPKs, trying to get them to work for me like i want them to. i just finished them today. all mods were done with a dull exacto knife and an allen wrench.
list of mods includes:
v cut cuff
v cut liner
removed spoiler plate
removed this one piece of plastic from the inside of the cuff.
removed plastic above the ankle to come level with the top buckle
moved powerstrap to spoiler plate hole
this is what i ended up with
the v cut liner and shell provide more mobility and flex going front to back without losing a ton of support. Shaving above the ankle/top buckle does the same with side to side movement. the v cut also gives your calf somewhere to go in backseat landings, so no more slamming your calf into your cuff.
spoiler plates are dumb. i recommend everyone takes theirs out. just because it sucks that much.
the low cuff mod increases mobility, and also lets you crank that powerstrap directly against your liner, so that things not useless anymore.
theres this piece of plastic with a tab on it that inserts into the inside of the cuff. i took it out. it looks dumb. less plastic in front of my shin = good.
in the process of v cutting the cuff, the powerstrap gets cut out. now instead of ripping out the rivets, i just cut around the rivets, put a hole through the resulting strip of plastic, and re use the bolt from the spoiler plate i removed and secured the powerstrap through the spoiler plate hole.
want to try it for yourself? just take a look at the pics, its pretty self explanatory. like i said, all i used was an exacto knife to cut and remove plastic. or, i will v cut your SPKs for you, just send me 20 bucks plus shipping and i will actually do a good job on them.
this is the concept art i did for it, with a few extras
Go ahead, flame me, i dare you. this boot is epic. this boot is the future of park rat boots.
