Ski Racks for a car.

I have no clue weather this should be in here or not, but whatever.

I have a '00 Toyota Camry and was wondering if there are any roof racks that is available for the car. There are not any roof rails on the car.

google search magnetic racks or something. ive had them before on rental cars. no roof rails needed, just throw them up top the car and ur good to go.

I got Yakima's and I had a fucking terrible experience with them, never actually lacked onto my car called the company sent me new ones and and they had the same problem. They could be good but I wouldnt recommend them. Go Thule.

I have used both, and both were very easy to install if they were designed for the car.  I thought it was a pretty simple concept.

get a roof box. I've found that for our types of skis, the roof holders, i.e. the racks where you just clip your skis onto the rail are a nightmare. My friends EP Pros were too wide for the clamp to go around, and no reverse cambered ski will fit in.
So yeah, go Thule, and make sure, not matter how many litres it is, that the length is long enough. In the UK, the standard shop bought ones only go up to 165cm

huh? How could a rack not hold a pair of EPs? Maybe im confused. Ive had a pair of EPs, a pair of M102s, along with 3 other pairs on a standard thule 6 pair rack.

we just got one for our 02 camray except we got the bars or whathever too. Are you looking for a box or like the clip racks?

yeah except for the fact that mine were designed for my car and I followed the directions perfectly and the stupid sit still wouldnt lock at all.

Go with Yakima. Thule costs more, and honestly I can say it is for nothing but the name. I have owned both of them and now I have a pair of the Yakima Fat Cat 6's now and I love them. Holds 5 pair of fat ass rocked skis and holds them well.

get your car set up with Thule. ive got my 00 malibu set up with the cross bars. and now my car can put a roof box on there, 6 place ski rack. (both at once) or in the summer i can put 3 kayaks up there. if i was a biker i could put bikes up there too. (with another attachment)

its a spendy investment, but its worth the money IMO. because i have a smallish car and there is no way i could move all this stuff without the Thule racks.

ive been told Thule was a much stronger rack system vs yakima. idk exactly how true this was, but REI had both of them and they were roughly the same price to get completly set up with and the guy said Thule was better.

either way it opens up limitless possiblities for your cars.

main difference between thule and yakima is the bar system. Thules are square and yakimas are round. Imo the square bars are better b/c it gives a more solid mounting surface. Plus we sell thule at my shop. In my research they are about the same when comparing prices.

i saw some one drill a straight BOX onto his roof, if your really on a tight budget than go buy a couple of screws, steal a porta potty and drill it to your roof
