A question to anyone with any lawyer experience

Ok, so last night i got an underage drinking ticket.  I was at a party, it got busted, but when i went up to get breathalyzed i told the cop i had just accidentally got hand sanitizer in my mouth and that I had only been there 10 minutes.  I also told him i was only drinking soda up to that point, since I really wasn't drunk at all and figured it was worth a try.  I blew a .012 and I said i told him that must be the hand sanitizer because i wasn't drinking.  He said he would rebreathalyze me in 20 minutes and that by that time the hand sanitizer wouldn't affect it, if it was what the .012 was that came up.  He got sidetracked and completely forgot to breathalyze me again before i left with my parents and now I'm asking you if I i go to court and plead not guilty what are the chances I get off scott-free?

haha thanks for the feedback guys
and yeah i was like hmmm something with alcohol in it that is legal and then i remembered reading about something with hand sanitizers and breathalyzers so i was like fuck it, I'll try it.
Also about court I'm pretty sure I'll have an optional court date or I can just pay the ticket, I don't actually have a ticket yet they're mailing them all out sometime.
So I'll go to that court date and plead not guilty and then I'll be assigned another court date to have them hear my case.

ya if the cop doesn't show up then the fines get dropped, but where i live they just changed the rule that the cop get paid to be there rather then in the past where they had to do it on their own time.

wow, i actually cant even believe this..

only a drunk would think of something this rediculious.... why dont you just pay the fine instead of dragging it out longer..

over and done with.

If you plead not guilty, you will have to waste a bunch of time at court, then you will lose, then you will have the charge on your record and have to pay the fine.

If you plead guilty, they will make you go to some AA meetings (or Action or whatever the local youth group thing is, if your under 18).  Then they will drop the charge.

^ BTW that is seriously what will happen, I've gotten a lot of misdemeanor tickets.  If your young and its your first offense, they never actually charge you.  If your under 18 they 100% won't.
