Cutting Down Poles

Ok i used searchbar so sorry if this is a repost but...

Im trying to vut down my poles but i cant get the top knob/handle off

What were some of the ways you guys got you handle off

If there is a screw at the top - undo it.

Seriously I open a door, stick the pole in between the door and the wall with the grip on the otherside of the door and then pull

pour hot water into a big pot and dunk the handles in there for 10 minutes or so
then tug they should pop off pretty easy

yep just soak them in hot water and then pull as hard as you can, they should wiggle right off
