It's like that with most parents that have kids that race.
I used to race cross country mtb in the summer and did pretty well but was no where close to becoming a pro nor did i want to. My dad kept pushing it though and I finally just said "fuck it" and stopped doing it all together. till this day he still throws in "if you just started training again you could make millions," to a lot of conversations. sometimes i'll ask if i can go ski and he'll say no but if i ask to go ride my bike then nothing else matters, i can go ride for the whole day. /rant
QQ its called a job. you might want to try it.
I have a sister who goes to gymnastics 5 days a week all year long and has meets all over washington state. She's also on the swim team with meets all over british columbia. She got a seasons pass and didn't use it once. She also got brand new powder skis that she didn't even want that also went unused. I however couldn't even get a ride to a single freeride comp. i know im bitching but I just wanted to compete a little bit this year.
