You do not always get to pick your song for your segment. Most of the time you are limited by the recording comapny's expectations as far as cash. Some of these dickheads ask for ridiculous amounts of compensation for a fucking song. But it is not usually the band, it is the label that pulls the bullshit. you can however make requests and the better you are, the more of a possibility it is.

pros can pick there own music sometimes espically if there guys like pollard, but other times the directors choose the song for the segment and editing style they want
