I feel like the stimulus package is gonna make alot of inflation so maybe gold is the way to go?

investing gold is a great idea.  u have money in your bank account that will accumulate over a certain amount of time.  but nothing compared to the rate of how much gold will be worth in the next 10 or 20 years

I'm certainly no expert on this matter, but people also said that about gold in the 80s, and then gold lost a ton of value.

No, it is being traded at an inflated price right now, due to a lack of confidence in the market. If you got in a few moths ago you would be doing pretty well. Not such a good idea now. You missed the boat.

I think gold is always a good idea.  When I have a substantial amount of money I will probably keep a lot of it in gold.  But like actually have the gold not just trade it on the stock market.  Come the apocalypse it'll still be worth something.

Invest in clean energy..... companies that work with clean batteries is where I'm heading. I see a comeback with the electric car... and some japanese folk made a battery that runs on sugar....

Imagine if you had invested in Oil pre ford..... I'm going for clean batteries... and maybe all the money this stimulus package invests will help me out.

Why the fuck would gold be worth something if there is an apocalypse and money is worthless? It would be valueless as well, it has no purpose other than a hedge against the stock market in current times.

You have much to learn.  A bar of gold can just be thrown at windows and you are free to loot, therefore you can still get anything with gold.  Also a gold brick would make a pretty good brain smashing weapon for when the zombies are coming at you.

Because Gold is a precious metal and has been valuble from the beginning of known currency until present day?  If after an apocalypse gold would hold value, people wouldn't magically forget what it is.  Sure food would be more valuble, but if civilization started up again, even slightly, gold would regain value.

Well my plan would be more to throw the gold bar at the zombie's head and hope I was accurate or invested in a LOT of gold.  But if you could find a pipe and melt it into the gold, or crap make a big gold staff/hammer that would be awesome.  You'd be the most pimp zombie fighter ever with gold arsenal like that.

I think it's funny that the economy is based on gold when it is useless except as a conductor, or art material (for making jewelry, gold leaf, etc.)

Once upon a time the U.S. dollar was back by gold, so in theory, you could go to the U.S. government and exchange $1 for $1 in gold.

Also, nowadays gold is as a financial asset, just like currencies and government bonds, by central banks.
