oh how I miss the powder. It's been just over three weeks (24 days to be exact) since I've last skied the pow. We had a 50cm day, with an additional 15cm the day after. (that was monday/tuesday). Unfortunately we got two days of rain immediately after (wed/thurs), and three weeks of NOTHING after the rain.

All I can say is that I'm sure glad I got park skills to keep me entertained this January (and probably most of February as well).

the pacific northwest has had a shit january. A ton of snow, a brutal pineapple express to ruin it all, a persistent inversion (not sure about interior BC though), and just a little tease recently.

That video brought back some fond memories from december when all there was to ski was POW

@skithebert & others: All the shots were in-bounds Snowbird, with a wide variety of zones being showed (Cirque, Gad Valley, P Gulch)

@Moegain: Try craigslist and other sites. There are usually couches to crash on at the base of LCC if you're willing to supply beer and maybe a small amt. of rent. I live at the UofU so I'm actually a descent distance away (20m or so)

@Vinci: ^see in-bounds comment. Everyone featured in this video has beacon/shovel/probe and some training with it. Nik's bro runs the Avy class at the UofU, which is actually pretty intense (5 hours a week for a hole semester) and most of us were rocking beacons on the pow days of this video

@schmity: Yup, I'm in Benchmark 821 at the UofU in SLC :)

I was actually on two different poles throughout that video. I tried Armada poles (I though the moto-grip would be nice), but ended up returning those for some Scott ones because the damn handle kept popping off. On those the pole straps were on the wrong way because it would get super loose around my wrist and come undone :-/


This weekend was killer...
