i think its pretty good, atleast its not full of lil wayne or a bunch of "underground" crap, there are some awesome songs in there, and the top like 20 has some that definatly deserve to be there.

I saw this mini-series countdown on VH1.

Its not a serious list.  They tried to get a variety of songs: new and old, boy and girl emcees, underground and radio.  I mean I give them some credit for putting in legit songs: Pete Rock, Wu Tang, Nas, the roots, Mos def/Kweli but you can't take this serious when theres like missy elliot in the top 10. Geologic said something in some blue scholars song like "how can VH1 be giving out the awards when they never played hip hop at all" haha

who cares if its mainstream some of htem are still good...whats the big deal with mainstream songs? some are way good...like really, if an underground group gets discovered and becomes popular and people demand it don't they go mainstream? i mean why wouldn't you thats where the money is at. it can stillbe for the music if its mainstream plus you make good money on top of it.

What's the big deal? This is the supposed to be the 100 "greatest" (stress on greatest) hip-hop songs, not a list of 100 overproduced songs with shallow, unintelligent lyrics and talentless MC's.

There's maybe 10 of those 100 songs that are worth  listening too.  A better title might be "100 Party Songs About Guns, Money and Pussy"
