Not Paying

anyone aware of what could happen by not paying a fine in another province you dont live in ? I live in quebec but was partying in ontario got ticket for drinking in the street jsut received it in the mail and i dont want to pay it! anyone know what could happen ?

I live in ontario and quebec threatened to send my parking tickets to collections and get my license suspended so i figured I should pay them

yeah but mine has nothing to do with my liscense or anything you know jsut a straight up fine

It can still go to collections and show up on your credit report, where it will stay until 7 years after you finally pay it off.  So if you plan on ever getting a loan for anything, you should pay things like this.

I don't live in Canada, however, I would imagine they would/still could fine you. And even more so if you don't pay the fine, then you'll pay penalties and interest.

I know that country under you enforces fines given in states other than your home one.

I am pretty sure that's whats up.

Canada Revenue Agency will get it and eventually - you'll wind up paying it in your taxes...if you usually get a refund, it'll come outa that - or your gst rebate cheque,

I live in california and my friend got a ticket and he didnt pay it and a few months later he got something in the mail saying he had to pay $800 or he gets his license suspended...he originally had to pay only $132 or something like that. So I dont think you want to be put in that position.
