Thought I would create yet another thread to start some hype. I got a chance to visit some of the facilities in Vancouver and Whistler this week and it looks amazing. It is to bad pipe skiing didn't make it in for 2010 because the pipe at Cypress looks unreal. Oh well maybe 2014
in-ground pipe, absolutely huge. perfectly sized to specs, etc. And according to the people at Whistler, when the olympics are there it will be a great time to ski, and not many crowds. All the hotels etc are filled with media, coaches etc. People who won't be skiing. And most of the mountain will still be open. So if you can find a way up there, it won't be that busy apparently.
makes sense, everyone's watching events and not actually skiing, i'll bet the powder gets skied off in 3 hours instead of 1.5 like normal :) but this guy who teaches at my school went to torino and he said the slopes were empty when he went skiing, seems like a good time to go out to whistler
