I was looking at the Look PX12 Jibs (no pun intended) and I saw that there was a lifter plate. I want absolutely no ramp angle on my bindings, so are these lifters ok to be taken off?
You can take them off but then you either have the screws ground down (your shop might do this) or get new screws from the same binding with no lifters. Some shops are concerned with liabilities and won't do it, so you may have to do it yourself, if you can.
I have lifters on my bindings and I don't think its much of a big deal...
Ramp angle is more with the actual construction of the bindings. I dont know how much of a difference taking the lifters off will make, besides a lower center of gravity.
the px12 jibs are supposed to have a little shock absorber cushion under the toe and heel. you must have the normal px12's that have the lifter plates. just take them to a shop and ask them to mount without the plates. most shops will do it.
they're the 07/08 model, I think. I just called into the shop and they said they had 2 bindings, mojo 15s which were too expensive for me, and the px12 jibs. I've only heard good about the px12 jibs except they were a bit heavy...so maybe I've been looking at the wrong pictures.
If you have info on them, let me know.
the px12 jib and px12 lifters are almost the exact same binding, except for the lifter and little shock absorber pads. they are awesome bindings and never pre-release for me. get them for sure
