hey I was just wondering if anyone knew which type of 16mm camera some of the ski filmers use. I've see a picture of one of the Phils doing a rocket air and a filmer with a camera that looks like a Bolex H16. But I've heard that it's not the greatest camera. I was just wondering if anyone could clarify this for me.

Sorry man I don't know anything about shooting with 16mm, try asking Andy (lineskieastcoast) he knows alot about that shit.

don't know that much about 16mm but i have talked to a guy from poorboyz about it i forgot his name though. He didn't say what type poorboyz used but he said the best 16mm camera to start with is the arriflex basic model, the s4? I know for a fact poorboyz uses arriflex cameras though.

yeah I was thinking of getting a Bolex h 16 next year when I'm working full time. I just have no clue what the quality of it is.

like anything I would try to use as many different kinds as you can. I'm assuming if you need it for work you work with people who have one. Just ask them and use theres. 16mm cam is a bit of money so just make sure you are totaly sure about your choice.

yeah the film is around 100 bucks per minute not including developement

accually a 400 foot roll without processing is around 128$ US and is 12 min long

ya but processing = bitch of cash money. Main reason i didn't shoot any this winter. I probably will in whistler if i can get some money out of the sponsors before i get up there. Or maybe at super park. Not sure yet.

They all use arriflex 16mm. Poorboyz, Iberg, Standard Films (TB's), Mack Dawg, Treetop Productions.
The all use Arriflex cause they are simply the best for it. The SR 3 is the one they use but yer prolly gonna have to buy it used
cause they are like 15 000-20 000 brand new. Used on Ebay I've seen some nice arriflex for like $1800 or so american. Ya but you can get good
bolex and krasnogorsk 16mm cameras for like 100-500 american but they are not near the quality of arriflex. Later.
