i wanted to get some more coverage thats why i put this in nsg, but im trying to mix 2 songs together, one where i remove the vocals and have just the beat and instrumental and one where it is just the vocals and no beat. has anyone ever done this? if anyone can lead me to the right program and tell me how to do this, it would be much appreciated. Plus karma for anyone who helps. btw, i have a mac.

What types of files are they? I don't know if that's possible with .mp3's or .wma's or whatever. Good luck though.

I don't think you can just 'remove' parts of the song on files like that. They are all mixed together in one. Not seperated into multiple channels for each part of the song. The only thing I can think of like that are Midi's.

if you can find the pitch of the voices just cut off the pitch of the highest part. or search for acapellas of the song which will be only vocals. It's really hard to get all the exact tones out of just an mp3 you have to have the original song to do that.

1. you cant remove vocals from a track. you can try it yourself but it'll sound pretty shitty.
2. some programs you can use is Adobe Audition CS3 (which i think is the easiest for cutting shit up and mixing it) or ableton, also see Audacity for cutting songs up if you want something thats free
3. if you want to get vocals you need acapellas. the best place to get acapellas is simply by googling them, downloading soulseek and searching it, or using torrents

logic is good, but i would recommend audacity
much simpler
very good choice'
that would be a very simple task on Audacity
i use it to mix beats and vocals that i personally record into one track

I'm assuming you're doing this with hip-hop? go buy some singles and a cheap turntable, they always come with original, instrumental, acapella, and another original, then just use a midi to usb to get the file.
