I'm buying a new pair of all mountain skis that will be my one ski quiver. I've been looking in the ar6's, Bridges and lords and i'm not sure which one to get?
I ski about 50% off piste 40% on piste and 10% park and I'm 6 foot or 185cm tall and weigh about 190lbs or 85kgs.
Feel feel to suggest other skis you think will suit my needs as well

all good skis (except the lord, haven't heard anything about that idk how it is).
my first choice would be bridges if u doin 50% pow.
and if u want to get armadas, i'd get ARVs instead of AR6s. they'll be a lot better in powder cause they're wider.

ARV's would be a great choice...and i think the lord would be a lil too soft for you. id go either with the bridges or the ARVs.

uhh i would look away from the ar6. they call it an all mountain park ski but lets be serious...its a park ski that can hold an ok edge.
The bridge would be the better choice. Another ski could be any seth model...possibly the 07-08.
i think the ARV may be a lil too soft for u since u are a fairly big guy.

Cheers for the help
yea im leaning towards the bridges but im unsure how something that wide will hold up on groomed runs (the widest i've skied on is 82mm underfoot).

nah don't worry about that. it'll take a few runs to get used to the width but volkls are generally stiff and solid on ice/groomers. my friend who races has bridges and he always lays out huge GS carving turns on his pair.

it really depends where you are skiing. My ar6s are good on groomers and in the park, but in the backcountry they are too skinny!

maybe take a look at Line Anthems?
they are equal too the Bridges...
plus the price is right....
the ARV's would be my first choice though.

Anthems are equal to Bridges? they arent even close. Anthems are really soft and symmetrical. Bridges are extremely stiff and have a traditional side cut. they are not even close to equal besides waist width

id go with the new 185 ARV's they've stiffened up since i rode them, but the ARV used to be my favorite ski in the whole world.
now the 176 Ninthward Laurent Thevenet pro / 183 Rory Quiver is my favorite

I have some brand new 185 ARVs, they have been stiffened up a bit from models past. Personally though, with weighing 190lbs, id go with the bridge, they hold an edge waaaaay better than the armadas, and are stiffer, and uber beefy!

i am lighter than you but i demoed bridges and was not a big fan. i found them to be heavy and kinda dead feeling. but then again i like a really lively springy ski so maybe that was just me.

I never rode the bridge but the walls are such a solid ski. I would go with the bridge if you want a sold ski, and especially for how big you are the bridge would be perfect for you.

I'm getting the bridges but i can get either the 07/08 ones or the 08/09 ones.
Does anyone know the differences between these. I can get the older ones really cheap but i was just wondering if there was any reason i should get the 09 ones?
cheers

well i haven't heard any complaints about this years, but apparently next years have an all new core using different wood or something. you'd be safe with this years and probably save a lot of $$$
