so everything on my setup is pretty much finished, i just have to add the lip. which would be sturdier in your opinion- plywood with a few logs below it or plywood on top of a mound of dirt? also, is a 4 foot drop in too much on top of a an 8 foot hill? the slope is about 25 degrees
well the drop in is definatly not too tall, so dont worry about that. and as for the jump i'd say the logs would be best if you just nail them together cause they can be moved if it has to, dirt would be harder to move and alot more work to get.
Honestly the best lips entail completely DIRT. This allows for perfect formation of the lip. Near a ski resorts lip with proper popping. If you put plywood you may not get maximum performance of lip. End
i used to have a 22inch tall rail and i had plywood with wood under it for the lip and it was kinda sketchy. now my rail is 10inches tall and plywood with wood under it works great. so basically if your rail is really tall use dirt, but if not plywood is just fine.
