I do that enough haha I want to experiment with others and see if I can write around it. I hate making my own beats because I have yet to invest in a keyboard, I need a new mic anyways, and when I do make my beats they're not that great. I have some dope lyrics I want to record and I have no beat. I don't want to go onto soundclick. I doubt that most of the NSers beats would be used, so I'm giving them a chance to be used! YAY!
for programing beats i'd say reason 4 is a dope program that's easy to use and cheap. It doesn't record instruments in though. Cubase 4 & Logic are good for recording & mixing. Garage band bloooooows!! Pro tools is very good, but the cheap slimmed down versions of it are useless- I don't suggest getting it unless you plan on dropping a few grand on the full version.
