mounting point on scratch bc

i just got em mounted, and i have to say they seem a little further forward then I would have expected. I had them mount them at the standard line, but i thought that would be more like my old skies, but there is about a 3 inch difference (same size skis). Is this how is is supposed to be, or did they screw something up. The standard line is almost in the center of the mount, but the binding is a lil forward, is this correct. Ayway im sure they do what they are designed for, rip up the powder, im just not used to this maybe. any input?

Well, there's two official mounting points on the BC, but you knew that. the first one 'further back' is more traditional, but still forward of 'traditional' mounting. The second one 'puts your boot toe on centre' as the rossi tech rep told me at the vancouver ski show/swap, without realizing that that will change depending on boot size...Screwing up on mounting bindings by mounting too forward is pretty damn hard to do, from experience. Easy to check too. Just have the shop set the jig up for your boot, then make them slap it on the ski at the correct line. if the holes match up, everything is OK. If not, they fucked up, and should do somethign about it.

well the toe of the ski was mounted at approx. 94 cm from tip, when i measure, (i did bend ruler w/ tip.) this is a 188 ski, so that would mean my boot tip is at the middle, did they mount them at center, when i didn't ask for that. or did my boot size effect something (29.5). thanks

nm, they are mounted correctly, does anyone ever get em mounted further back of standard, or is the standard line great for the pow. It just seems too far forward to do well in pow. but i guess they tested this fucker out.

i tech repped for rossi last year, and when i mounted my BCs i put demo binders on them, so i could move it forward / back as i wanted.

^ and you probably blew out of your demo bindings every 5 minutes, not to mention the fact that lifting your skis was comparable, effort wise, to benching 400 pounds. Congrats on a useful post...

^^^jib_this.. you've got a great sence of humor. Yes they are heavier, but rossi makes a light demo binding. No, they aren't 400 pounds... and what exactly would the series of events leading up to a person assuming the position of bench pressing a pair of skis be? I mean... we all get a little worked up before the season starts, but i prefer a gym to train.
