the pilot, andy seyl, was my friend and neighbour. from what we know he managed to manouver the heli when he encountered a problem so that the lives of his 7 passengers were saved but he unfortunately lost his in the process. he was an incredible pilot and i was fortunate enough to witness him flying the towers for the revelstoke gondola first hand. thanks to everyone for posting their regards on this thread, i shall pass them on to his wife and two kids.
