Stuffit Expander...for mac, its free for the previous version

It works for many kinds of zip files, and since it's free, its the best bet you can have...I use it all the time and it just works, fast.

try using "the unarchiver" just google search it and it works pretty well in my experience.

you downloaded a file, unzipped it and now it has rar files? I think OSX can already to rars but if not just download stuffit expander.
