anyone have a ski/snowboard club at your school? I started it senior year, got a pretty cool teacher to sponsor it that let me do whatever I wanted with it.
our first meeting had so many people show up it was standing room only. we collected five dollars dues from everyone, so it was a shitload of money. over the next 3 meetings the number of people attending dwindled to just the true skiers and boarders. we planned some trips but nothing ever got off the ground. i didnt really care cause i didnt need any group rates, i already had a season pass for the three local hills.
however, we did build a really nice drop-in. it was the only time I have used high school math in real life, I used trigonometry and to my surprise it worked perfect. we build a couple boxes, battleship. and elevator rail. railjams were fun, before the season started we trucked in ice rink snow and had some fun.
eventually the year was over so me and my skier friends looted the treasury. there was a lot of money left, cause like 80 kids showed up initially and a lot of them paid dues and never came back.
we used the money to buy pizza and a bunch of weed. normally club money has to be carefully accounted for, its kept in the school accounts, but we just kept it at my friends house. its not like we could return the money anyways, so whatever.
I rolled a bunch of joints that looked like cigarettes and we smoked em on the hill. anyone have any good stories from their clubs?
