Gravity is created by a massive object spinning (i.e the earth right) I was thinking about that and it kind of defies the laws of physics. For instance the ride at the amusuement park where it simulates positive g's by spinning you around in a cyndrilacal object and increasing speeds to make you stick to the wall. But if you were on the outside of that wall (like we are on the outside of the earth) you would be flung off into the crowd (or away from the center of the machine) So why arnt we being pushed away from the earth by syntrifical force. Spin a basketball on the ground as fast as you can drop water drops on it and they fly off they arnt stuck to it. The earth is rotating at nearly 1100 m.p.h seems like that would be pushing us away not holding us down. This has been bugging me today so hopefully someone will see the part im missing.

easy, the earth has a greater mass then the basketball . therefore the gravitional force is much stronger then the synifritfal force.

OI have something crazier to think about. You know how like the earth is moving fucking fast! like really fast I mean spinning. So what would happen if it stopped spinning... I think the reason when you jump and you dont like get left behind because the earth is spinning is because you have momentum so you just fly with it... wouldnt it be crazy if the eatrh stopped. you would just fly forward because of all the momentum you had....it would be pyschotic.

Gravity is caused my mass, not the spinning of the Earth. Everything with mass has an attractive 'gravity', but the Earth is the only thing heavy enough for us to detect.

dont get centfrigal force and gravity mixed up. u are stuck to earth becuase of earths mass, earth is spinning cuz uhh i dunno but the centrifigal force actually counters gravity to some affect. i dont remember what the basketball thing was about i guess post number 2 comming up.

okay 1g is 9.81 m/s per second and the earth is spinning at 500 m/s so the decelaration of the earth at a constant rate over 1 second would produce over 50 gs now that is enough to crush a person against a stationary wall, but would that person be crushed against air i guess not cuz hed be thrown giving more time to decelarate, but i dunno is that right?

Ice-Is-Scary, that is correct. You don't notice anything special happening because the masses involved are too small. The drop of water is attracted to the basketball but it is attracted to the Earth as well which is billions of times heavier so you will only notice the drop falling towards Earth (in theory it would be attracted slightly towards the ball as it fell but then again it'd be attracted towards you too because you have mass as well). If there was such a thing as a region of space with no gravitational forces at all, if you placed the basketball and the drop of water a distance apart they would come together.
The Earth's spinning actually causes the Earth to bulge at the equator like it's being squashed a bit at the poles. This results in g being something like 9.81 m/s^2 over the equator and 9.78 m/s^2 or something in a place like New York. (I'm not sure of the exact figures but it's something like that).

the spining of the earth has nothing to do with gravity, it dose when you talk about artafial gravity. But natural gravity is cused by mass thats why the moon has less gravity and Saturn has more.
