when i was in grade 3, i got yelled at for stopping to tie my shoes during a fire drill. I mean whats a bigger safety concern - an imaginary fire or untied laces in a crowded hallway??? I was way ahead of my time.

in grade 4, we had a microwave over heat and we got like half the day off school. just because the microwave smoked a bit. it was sweet. firetrucks and all.

i never got the point of fire drills at my old high school...they used to tell us what time it was going to be.....just so we could be 'prepared'...now how does that help us at all with a real fire?

well the point of fire drills is...to prepare us incase of a real fire. hehe...yes and it is a requirement by your local FD to practice and they arent supposed to tell you when they are becaus eyour supposed to be suprised

see i get the point in fire drills ...that is quite obvious...i just didnt get why my school would warn us about them....that takes away the whole point of the fire drill.

well schools are required to do a certain number of fire drills every year and last year we did them all in the last week of school. Doesnt that kinda defeat the purpose?

They don't announce ours but teachers will tell us anyways because they know. When we have a fire drill everyone, including teachers are like grabbing coats and stuff and then leisurely walking out, it does nothing. They say that's what we are supposed to do, walk out orderly, fuck that! If there were an actual fire everyone, including admin. would be running their asses out of there. Once in elementary school the school caught fire and flooded within two weeks.

And interesting note- in my school in the fire codes etcetera it says in case of a fire (drill or actual) you have to go 100 feet away from the school, but in case of the same circumstances but with a bomb threat you only have to go 30 feet away from the building. I guess they think, yes, the flames won't go further than 100 ft... but also that a bomb would just stop 30 feet away from the school...

We had a fire drill first hour. My teachers so damn funny, hes like stay outta the road, you wouldn't want to get hit by a firetruck on a fire drill, maybe during the real thing but not during a drill. well you had to be there.

haha, i had one today, our light flashes twice before the alarm, i was in french class saw the light, yelled 'fire drill' and ran out of that god forsaken class.....i was the first one out and the last one in

i got suspended in gr 7 for pulling the fire alarm, i didnt know that my school could afford the actual alarm so i thought that maybe they just put those there so they dont look welfare, so ya never pull that shit

sum guy phoend my schol and said there was a bomb so we got to go home, and another tiem the powder went out so we went home, but when they said we could leave it went back on so we all ran out as fast as we could, sum ppl got caught and had to stay.. hahaha

Isn't it a law that schools need to have generators? I remember once that happening in junior high and saying something about it being illegal and my teacher got a bit nervous and changed the subject... hmmm.

we had a drill last week (or mayber earlier this week, i cant remember) and someone pulled the alarm today. we were outside playing capture the flag in gym, and the gym teacher didnt believe us that the alarm was going off so all of the teachers we had to meet with got pissed at us
