D40 or canon xti

should i get a canon xti or a d40 i need a new digital slr and i was wondering what one i should get

you should spend the extra or get a used D70s or a D80. the xti feels like its a toy, and the d40 is really really entry level. budget/ experience?

Wow...

You have no idea about these cameras do you. D40 is pretty much a soccer mom dSLR camera, where as the XTi is more professional. The XTi is probably better in every way possible. Do some research cause I'm sorry but you just can't compare those two cameras.
