this definitely depends on the artist. with some it's just crazy to not listen to the album as a whole understanding the meaning of the layout and the songs etc. with a lot of others it doesn't really matter too much, they make one hit song to make $$$ maybe a few okay ones and the rest are just filler like said above.
If you're listening to albums that are just two good songs and then just filler you're listening to not good music. Good albums and good music come from albums that need to be listened in full, since all the music is wonderful and tells an auditory story.

and single trach buying is what fules the idea of a crappy album based around 1 or 2 good songs, why should a artist put the efort in for a good album when only 2 songs from it are gonna be bought on itunes?
no, if half of the album is filler, they will still make bank on those one or two songs. if people where forced to buy whole albums the artist beter have a good whole album or people are gonna skip right over it. and even if the entire cd is exelent, all you hear is that one or two songs on the radio and on the tv, so thats all you buy.
ive had itunes for like 2 years and never once bought a whole album..most ive bought is probly 3 songs off of one..guess i dont actually enjoy listening to music becasue i dont spend 14.99 on an album that i know im only going to like 3 songs off of anyway. fags
