Ok so i need some bindings for my 07/08 anthems, im looking at the look p18s with the turntable heel, seems like it would be a good binding because of the high DIN and steel construction. But they run like 300 bucks, and i dont know if my din needs to be that high or not. im 6' 2" and 165 pounds, and i think if i get like salomon bindings the din will be too low. what din range would you suggest for like, some park and all around shredding?
Haha, I'm not going to tell you what to set your DIN at. My only question is: What do you usually have it on? I'm about your size and can get away with 12 DIN bindings, but I know there's lots of super gnarly guys who are way better than me and need higher retention. But really the only deciding factor of what DIN range you need is whatever your DIN needs to be, not what other people think it should be.
If they're the Spherical Salomons or Markers then that tends to happen. If not, then you probably could use a 15-18 DIN binding. If you look around it's not hard to find FKS 185's for around $200, or if you're willing to buy used they can be had for around $150. However, since you have to ask if you need this sort of binding I think it would be good to make sure you have forward pressure and toe height adjustments correct on the bindings you currently have. Usually if you need something like this, you don't have to ask.
I'm 6' 2 an 165 also, i have s914s for my AK Enemys, z12s for the msps, and z10s for my shitty silencers. I think park riding ya can get away fine with dins below 10 at our weight, and you definitely dont need to go above 12. Go light rather than rugged for park.
