It's so hard to pick the right camera. I really, REALLY like shooting film but I don't have the money to keep buying film and getting it developed and getting a scanner and whatever. So I have to get a digital :(
Anyways, anyone recommend a camera? I might save up for a DSLR since I desperately want a focus ring on the camera so I don't have to really on that goddamn autofocus. I'll have around $1,500 Candian Dollars whenever I get paid next and I have until Late October or Early November to buy the camera. I'd still need to get a 256mb memory card which would add on another $120+ and polarizer which is another $40 unless the lens can use 52mm filters, in which case I'd be very happy.
I've been looking at the Canon EOS 300D (Digital Rebel) but I looked over it because of it's continuous shooting rate but we'll be using a MiniDV cam too so I can make sequences using that. It's the first sub-thousand dollar DSLR ($899 USD) but it's not the same as other DSL cameras. So if anyone can find me a used EOS 30D or 10D or something for around $1,000 USD with or without a lens, I'd be really happy.
Man, I want a film camera so much but I'd be getting like 96 shots per month with film but 1,000 per month on digital so it seems like a decent choice.
