that is a system binding designed to run on a track system. basically you don't want that for any twin tip ski. You can buy the same binding without the track system but personally I wouldnt bother. Check out the new sth12 from salomon, rossi axial/scratch 120, 4frnt deadbolt 412.
i have rental tracks on my bindings, but i don't know if that's what these are. mine don't raise the binding at all, they stay locked in place all the time, and i have no problems with them. that's mine though, i'm really not sure about those.
they are designed to go on salomon system ski packages. A metal rail which comes in the binding box slides under the two notches at the far end of the toe piece. This binding would be useless ( ie would not even fit) on any ski other than those which already have the SMARTTRACK system on them.
