In my dorm I want to set up a ton of speakers all around the room and stuff, how would I do that and connect them all together?
Is it possible to do it w/out an amp?

you just connect the red wire to the red thing and the black wire to the black thing on the receiver.

the receiver is just the box that you connect the speakers to. it usually has a built in radio and it has inputs where you would connect a cd player, dvd player, or anything else you want to connect it to. the reciever controls everything like volume control, bass, trebble, which input you want to listen to,ect.

If they're seperate systems like what we have, you can link them using Airport Expresses... we have three surround systems linked with three of those so that you can play music from any laptop in our house to all of them. Great for parties.

i got one for free. it has a crack in the front plastic, and the people couldn't used it because of that, and they gave it to me. its a real nice one worth around $1500, and is only like 2 years old.

a receiver is just an amp with a built in radio receiver.. hence the name receiver.
If you don't want a radio tuner just get an amp.
