Wow. The level of competition was so high today at the halfpipe comp it was insane. Whether it was the Giacomo Kratter busting a 1440 in the pipe(!!!) or little 11 year old, 4'4' Luke Mitroni busting 13 feet out the day was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. The super pipe was the nicest looking pipe that I have ever seen. Local Abe Teter, who failed to qualify for finals, was clearing the top of the 20 ft pole easily. Danny Kass pulled back to back cork 1080's. It was one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. Stratton always puts on a good competition and this year was no exception. Tomorrow (Sunday) is the first year that slopestyle has been included and it should be really cool to see. Here was a photo I found from the night quarterpipe last night:
Huge. Everyone should check out slopestyle tomorrow if you are in the Stratton area.
