Lighting a zippo

so i just got a zippo, and it wont light..........and i cant figure out if it has fuel or not

my friend said i have to light the wick on fire with something else...but i dont know if i should do that or not

i think it just has no fuel...but do you have to light the wick on fire when you get it

you dont need to light the wick with an outside fire source. if there is fuel, it will light. unless its broken...

uh, no need to light wick on fire when you get it. if it's sparking but not lighting then it needs fuel. it doesn't come with fuel in it btw. I think you have to be 18 to buy it. my mom bought it the first time, after I played with it too much she refused to buy more. sooooo I went to 7 11, picked up the fuel and a slurpee and went to the indian lady at the register. I placed them on the counter and continued casually talking to a friend. she looked at the bottle reading everything on it then looked around and kept on looking all shifty everywhere, normally they're quick. it was odd but eventually she checked me out and I left.

and after you put the fuel in it, hold it upside down for a minute or 2
But zippos are pretty shitty when it comes to smoking anything, because if you suck in while you are lighting, you get these nasty fumes. It would be really usefull in lighting a hookah coal though.

no matter what, you shouldn't be smoking with a zippo.... unless you want ass fumes. lighting shit and firecrackers/fireworks on fire is what zippo's are good for. personally i think they are a waste, bics are universal

one more question, is it bad if you dont use the actual zippo brand fuel in it

or can you just use any old lighter fluid

It doesn't need to be Zippo brand fluid. Any old kind will do the trick.

make sure you don't put the zippo in your pocket upside down or that it doen't flip in your pocket. it did that to me once and i didn't notice until my leg started to ich like crazy and i had a wet spot on my pants the size of a grapefruit. my fucking leg itched soo fucking bad too so watch out...
