long distance relationships?

anyone ever tried a long distance relationship and had it be successful...i'm in one now (I live in NH, she in CA), but i've been messing around a little and i don't really know what she's up to. Feel like its too much, but i really do love the girl. Oh well, just kinda depressed about the whole thing.

ok, i had pretty much a long distance relationship for 3 months (jail..) all together we were a couple for 5 months. long distance relationships work if you had something to base it on, like memories to keep bringing up. i really shouldn't be talking about relationships, but if the flame is burning rbright run with it and see how long you can keep it lit.

Am I the only person who can honestly say that he's had a long distance relationship work out? It's not that bad, but it's not easy. You really have to work at it. Make an effort to talk, send each other stuff, remember all important milestones like birthdays, the bullshit 1/2/3/4/5 month anniversary stuff if she's into that, and make sure you randomly surprise her with phone calls and such things. Do little things like wake her up in the morning with a phone call(easy, 3 hour time difference) and remember that if she's telling you about a bad day, an E-card will make her feel better. But if you're already fucking around on her, end it. And read what the Stix wrote, it makes a lot of sense, despite what I've written

We live in seperate towns 30 minutes away, this summer i've seen her more than i've seen my best friend...we're coming up on 5 months. When school starts we only see eachother once a week....when skiing starts, i might not get to see her at all haha, no really i'll see her less then

well i dropped the girl i was messing around with. and the girl from CA invited me to stay at her house for most of next summer, too bad next summer is so far away. im sending her shit on her birthday anyway, but the phone call was a good idea. Thanks to all.

Save yourself the trouble...If she is the right girl you can end up with her in the end but long distance blows unless you are older and really ready to be committed. Be young and stupid while you have no responsibilities. Unless she lives near a kick ass mountain in Cali then drag her along so you can have a free place to stay for a trip out there.

For sure. Eventually someone has to move, I've never heard of a long distance marriage. Unless you are planning on eventually hooking back up and living in the same place, long distance is not only failure prone but just plain a waste of time.

And who says a 30 minute drive is long distance? I've had to drive about 20 mins to see each of my last three gf's and they live in the same city as I do.

ive had a long distance relationship work out. my bf moved to whisterr for awhile while i was living in toronto......it all worked out, we talked everyday at least once, and i saw him for my spring break....then he moved back here. YES.
