Getting scratches out of a monitor...

Now I have a problem. I have some scratches in my monitor, I have no idea how they got there and they are very surface (you can't feel them at all if you run your hand/fingers over them, but you can see them perfectly and it gets really fucking annoying) I was wondering if there was a way I could get them out? If I take the monitor to a shop could they sand them out with some crazy fine sandpaper or something or just change the plastic/glass screen layer of the monitor? If anyone knows anything on this please help me out.

try rubbing in a circular motion with toothpaste or even better, carwax if you have it. they have fine abrasives in them that will buff it out, i did it on my watch crystal a few times when it got scratched.
