how long did it take for the swelling to go down for you and how long after surgery were you off of crutches?? I've had 3 other surgeries that were more major but this time I just had a bone spur removed and a meniscus chunk taken out. Just curious.

i had meniscus surgery five years ago and i was on crutches for like a month before the surgery but after i was off em in less than a week. right now i am recovering from acl surgery on my other knee where they also took out approx. 30% of my meniscus, and I expect to be on crutches for 2-4 weeks after surgery. the thing is that its different for everyone and the only advice i can give you (which i am sure you know if you've had surgery before) is do whatever the doctor and physical therapist say and you will recover faster.

has your swelling subsided and how long after were you off of crutches?
I'm on track with mine, I'm just curious because I'm kind of a geek.

yep, have been. I'm actually, according to my PT, ahead of schedule. I'm just kinda bored and was curious. Thanks for the advice, though.

Yes, my swelling is gone. I have been doing 'normal' things since about a week after it. I never used crutches, my doctor said don't if you don't have to, and limit your activity by pain. So do what you are comfortable doing. It's pretty simple. I'm assuming you got a checklist type thing? Just follow that.
Anymore, just post/PM.

dude, me neither. I've watched a billion movies and every lax game I have on tape. I'm actually more swollen today than yesterday cause I got too bored today and did too much. Damn post-op boredom.
I'm so glad I don't have to do the ACL rehab again, that shit was boring beyond belief.
Good luck bro, keep up the rehab.

Werd. I've watched all 3 Seasons of Arrested Develoment, 4 Volumes of Family Guy, both seasons of Chappelle and countless movies. The weather's been pretty shit too, so I can't just go outside and lie in the sun. Sooooo bored.
