New era sizing and fitting, shrinking?

i have a newera 59fifty athletics hat, from what i think is a new line of them (its gray under the brim, doens't have a flag on the side and the mlb logo on the back has green and yellow in it). i just bought a chi sox hat, same size (7 1/4), but the brim is black, there is a flag on the side, and the mlb logo on the back is raised and just white and black. this hat is a little bigger than the other one, and fits pretty badly on my head (when i bought it, it was like chained to the wall so i just assumed it would fit). the sides where the flag is poke out a little and it looks odd.
is there anyway i can shrink it, or with wear will it become more loose and look better?

if you stick it in the washing machine then the dryer it should shrink, my buddy got a 59fifty hat that was a size too big and he shrunk it that way because he didnt want to send it back. i dont know how much exactly it will shrink but he claims that fixed his problem and the hat looked perfectly fine afterwards. as for stretching i have had zero luck with getting a new era to stretch out any. i have one (chi sox as well haha) that is too small and even after wearing it for a year it seems to fit just as tight as it did on day 1.

^exactly, just wet the hat and leave it over night. my friend was telling me his head was between a 7 1/4 and a 7 3/8 and that the only way they would fit was if he shrunk his 7 3/8 hat.
