well there is a site that is similar to ns but for rasta. a conflict arose how there were ppl just using rasta colors to just sell stuff. and i shared about how rasta is the new style for a lot of skiiers now. we agreed to make a cult on here where some other rastas and I will share anything you guys need and want to know about rasta. rastafi changed my life. send me a message if u want in. Rasta Nick himself just joined ns to talk to ppl as well. many other are to.
send one here.
ive always been interested and know a bit about it, but my pool of knowledge is still in the shadows
ive read a couple books and seen some documentaries about it. id like to know more
one of my friend's dad is jamaican and rastafarian and his mom was ethiopian, his dad was such a pimp, when my friend's mom died, i went to the funeral, the dad had a full silk suit on, hella gold chains and gold four finger rings and hella dreads. one of his brothers spoke at teh funeral, i understood four words from his 10 minute speech: Her, Love, The, and RASTAFARIANISM!! which he yelled in the middle of his speech a few times
when i was in vermont on march break i saw some guy come down im my hotel with all these rasta colors, armada goggles, had his snowpants on and all...just to eat breakfast. so i thought rasta colors+white person+wearing all those clothes for breakfast=newschooler. why would you deck yourself out to eat breakfast?
Indeed.
Maybe you guys should bring up the fact that you can't ski in Ethiopia. And I'm not going to bother if any you guys know who Haile Selassie is, cause out of the over 20 kids decked out in rasta colours I've asked none of them knew.
I researched alot on rastafarian lifestyle for a school project. At first I did it beacause I thought it would be funny to talk about bob marley and weed in a 10 page project. Actually, I found a really deep roots movement with some things we should really respect. I also found out that it pisses me off when people have dreads and therefore call themselves rastas. Shit.
"And if thou sleepith with thou wife's mothers brothers daughter's daughter, then thou shall have thine nose cut off, all of thine hair removed and thou shall wander in the sand for 7 years. And if thou sleepith with thou wife's mothers brothers son's daughter, then thou shall have thine nose cut off, all of thine hair removed and thou shall wander in the sand for 7 years. " That's what I remember from the Holy Book of Rastafari. Of course there were lots of other punishments listed for even wackier things. Seems a little played out with all these jitterbugs wanting to be "cool" and smoke weed, I mean I'm all for fucking the white man, he's a lying douchebag, but I can think for myself and I definetely won't be jumping on a bandwagon, especially one I just have assumptions about.
Are there such things as vibes? Of course.
Is weed Holy? Anything can be, when used with absolute respect at all times.
Does red, yellow and green colored clothing make you cool? Hell ya!
But why do people need a religion to follow? I think Carl Jung addressed this.
im in the cult. its aight. to the maker of this thread..idk what the official "rasta" colors are but if your icon was sposed ot be the jamacian flag, its upside down. it goes red yellow green not green yellow red
