I have ridden an 80mm underfoot forever, but Ive been noticing, the standasr is creeping up towards the 85/86mm. Ive never ridden a ski of that width. Is it much harder to spin with? easier? I can assume they would be a little heavier.
My Madens are heavy and wide as fuck, but I have so much more fun in the park with them than my old 1080's. Landing huge airs with them is crazy, you get so much more stability, and riding shit out switch, even in lumpy and bumpy spring slush is easy as shit. Swing weight does lower the degrees of rotation you can do, but who cares, floaty 180's are sicker than cork 10's IMO.
i've got sprayer bc's which are 88 waist and they're perfect for everything and park. i have some old scratch fs 80 waist and i don't feel comfortable off of jumps anymore with a narrower waist. once you go fat you never go back
i have karmas and the wasit is 88 i beleive...i havnt really put them through their park paces yet do to blown knee but colby west rides the same thing...and well...that speaks for itself.
def go with at least 85 thats what my fujis are and im looking to step that up to 93 with the new anthems the skinny wastes of my friends scratchs arnt near as good fealing
exactly...i rode the el reys at an 87 waist and the t-hall and ar6 at 86 and they were so much better than my 1080s which were 80.
im not going under like 83 ever again (dumonts)
i own a pair of this years 1080 guns....
they are AMAZING in pows and bc, especially
i did not have much problem playing in the park with them either(although i am not very good)
Fujas are like 85, I ride those and they are good, I'd prefer something a bit wider but I'm trying to get better at spins first so I'll stick with those for a bit. I'd love to hook up a pair of AK's though.
