3 Mutes?

Yes I used the Searchbar, but I was looking to see if there was anything I could do besides just going for it... are there any tips that you guys use when you do your mute grabs while spinning? Im going to Mt. Snow tommorow and I really want to learn...

hmmm....assuming you can do a 3.

first try with the safety grab to get used to grabbing your skis.
next once you feel comfortable with the safety grabs, start crossing your skis with a 3 to get that down
then grab your ski and pull the bitch and tweak it out.

some attempts and you should have it down

im gunna tell you now that you will most likely fall your first few times, make sure you keep your focus on spinning and not on the grab, i remember learning grabs with spins and i would always focus on grab, and look down to make sure i had it, but then i would stop spinning and wreck

I'd get safety 3's down first, as throwing a mute slows down your rotation a bit and can put you off balance if you're still learning. You'll need to throw the rotation a bit more than normal, and I'd also get mute 1's down before going for the extra rotation, so you get the feel of crossing and grabbing while spinning. But yeah, they shouldnt be too hard if you keep at it.

aside from the obvious ones (safety/critical) mutes are probably one of the easyest grabs to throw into a spin. since ur tweaking the grab up from underneath there really isnt much that can throw u off balence. make sure u have straight up mutes diled and can do a tucked up 3. then get 3 safetys and once u have those u just have to do essentially the same thing except reach across and pull back. u can do the mute 2 ways: u can cheat and cross ur skis then grab which is fine or u can grab ur skis when they're parallel and pull across ur body and back which i think makes it look even sicker. other than that u just have 2 giver. u'll be surprised how easy they will be to learn. good luck
