Is being a park rat and not having freestyle boot really a bad thing. Like do they help prevent shin bang and the heel from brusing and stuff or im i fine with a pair of Nordica all mountain boots.
dude if the boots work for you then great. spks made me like jumps atleast a whole lot mor though. i never get shin bang and can knuckle like any jumps and not get bruised heels.
my Foils are like pillows and soften alot of jumps deffinatly.
MY friend and i were both hitting a 30 ft hit lading into the rest of the park and my friend (who was riding rental stuff) landed on the knuckle and is still having heel problems (its been a month or 2) i came up short the first time and had no problems at all.
this may just be rental to non rental boots, but regardless park boots are sick, although not a neccesity.
When i got my rampages i definetly felt way lighter, that and landing on flat from small side-trail jibs hurts way less, dont get shocked in my heels at all. took a while to get used to them though, for some reason balancing on rails felt kinda awkard for a few times
i have lange 120 flex race boots, they are killing me. would a delobello rampage, or spk, or any other park boots be a major and worth while imporvment?
dude if you're a self-proclaimed "park rat" then I would seriously consider getting some more comfortable boots. The stiffness and flex of race boots are designed for stability and transfering energy through the whole ski when turning. When you're in the park most of the time that means very little. You're going to want something that is going to be comfortable and able to lessen the abuse that park riding dishes out.
But whatever you get make sure it fits your foot properly. Some boots just dont fit some people right. Make sure you have the right size and try different brands.
I got to fully ride my rampages the other day for the first time. I landed really backseat a few times, even completely missed the landing and landed on the worst possible part where the landing begins, right on the part that goes from flat to down, nothing hurt at all. I remember last time that happend with my previous boots I could barely stand.
I had a lot of muscle pains though, I think it's cause I've been skiing 3 times a week, and I haven't for about 2-3 weeks until the other day so yeah
