i just got back from sharking we got 8 hookups and 4 blue sharkrs to the boat the largest was about 8-9 feet long and saw a basking shark its real fun and we also got 5 striped bass (sea bass) and small blue fish

I love sharks, but to study them and swim with them. I caught a seven-foot salmon shark up here about four years ago. I don't mind sport fishing for sharks, but commercial fishing and finning for them really pisses me off. I did a massive paper on international and national laws that should be placed on shark fishing (primarily commercial) because of the dramatic declines in their populations, extreme changes in ecosystems, and overpopulations of other species of animals (i.e. sea lions) that crowd beaches and pose a threat to their prey as well as humans. Anyway, I sound like a total nerd here, but seriously, it's complete torture what the Chinese and them do to the sharks. They catch them on hook or in massive nets, cut off their pectoral, dorsal, and sometimes caudal fins, and throw them back into the ocean still alive to sink to the bottom and die. I know that's not at all what sport fishing for sharks is (it's quite fun, and not torture), but what a waste of an animal. Anyway, I'm done. I could go on for days about sharks...

^you are right and i did not keep any of the sharks today blue sharks arnt good to eat i think the finning for the shark fin suop is horible to they dont use anything else on the shark if i keep a mako or thresher i will eat it all and keep the jaws and stuf like that

I used to do a ton of deep-sea fishing. I used to get really sick on the boats because of the mix of fish guts (the bait) and the waves on such a small boat. aughhh. We caught the huge salmon in Alaska though (must have been 6' or something). It was sooo good to eat after we had it gutted and shipped back to our house. I'm not a big fisher anymore though, especially after I went in the East Coast and couldn't keep ANYTHING down in my stomach...

thats sweet Lateralis but the cops might not like it also heat th diving board to a really hot temp so their feet burn that will teach them a lesson about lisnting to you

If you're getting attacked by a shark, the best thing to do would be to punch its gills, or kick them or something. Anything to disrupt its breathing, because that drowns it, and it will let go probably immediately.
