Is it ever too cold to ski. Around here there is a high of 5 and a windchill of -3, and I'm debating whether or not I want to go skiing today. Do you guys think it can ever be... tooo cold?
yup yesterday i went skiing when it was -9 + windchill. and me and my friend were literally there with 4 other people andso we pretty much had the whole hill to ourselfs, it was soooo nice
at stowe like 2 weeks ago it was -20 i just dressed warm and used warmers and stuff and i was good, took some breaks before and after lunch but it was ok
yes it gets too cold to ski, but not where you are right now. I've seen the mountain shut down cause it was -35 degrees out without windchill, and there were 85 mph winds at the top. The made everyone go in the lodge or go home, cause it hurt to breathe
look outside....if there is a sort of fog because it is cold....don't go skiing. All the humidity in the air has frozen, and if your breath this stuff in ice will form in your lungs. To enjoy a day like that you need a breather.
this one time in Alaska i was peeing outside and my urine turned to ice before it hit the ground, and then my dick froze solid then my girlfriend came to give me a hand job but as soon as she touched my dick, it shattered into millions of dick ice pieces.....now im into guys....any singles out there?
the only situation where it was too cold for me to be skiing was when the wind was whipping directly up the hill (and wind chill very low) so when it was combined with speed down the hill, it was too much for the face. so basically unless the wind is directly up the hill, not really.
i night skied at bretton woods where the base was at -20 with out the windchill, if you layer and cover your body its always nice cause no ones on the mountain.
I was out on friday when it was -10-15 with 20mph winds on the lower mountain and 30-40mph on top. It wasn't too bad until I had to eat lunch or take skins on or off.
I usually have the die-hard attitude, but for some reason this season i've had to leave when it's like 18degrees out cuz i was so cold. My feet and my hands freeze everytime, and my toes usually just go numb within an hour and i ski through it. I have good gloves, but my hands still freeze. I never used to have this problem, and it's starting to piss me off. I think i probably have poor circulation in my feet and hands.
yesterday I was -34 and -44 with wind chill, today it was similar and they closed the hill but I went out for a bit yesterday. And for the Yanks -40 C = - 40 F
