Just curious...

Mine: Snapped left humerus in half - 1 plate 6 screws and in the same incident snapped my thumb - 3 pins. Whoa, 3 months in bed, that sucked.

This isn't even half bad, so I guess I'm lucky...I broke my collarbone two days after Christmas, let it heal for a month, came back and broke it again. Two months out of one of the best winters the east has seen (besides this year) in 2000-2001.

one jump: doing a back flip my ski popped off as i hit the jump, which shot straight up in the air as i went off, I then overrotated my flip because my weight was off. I landed on my upper back an broke 3 vertabay in my back. Then my ski fell back down and hit me in the chest which cracked my sternum in half. my sternum folded in half and stuck straight out of my chest. My back took me out of sports for 3 months then the surgury to get my sternum stuck back in took me out for another 4 months. beat that

thats pretty crazy there bud...as for me i think i had a mild concussion snowboarding, when i hit a jump wrong and took a hard landing. I know I know, pretty sad, but as for skiing, nothing to date. i think my helmet has saved me a few times tho,its awesome

rocketboy, that is a money story. I have a good one, but happened to a good friend. He was in a big air comp for snowboarding, went for 720 rodeo, landed on the back of his next. Shattered three lower lumbars, couldn't get out of bed for 3 months, missed half of freshman year. That was over 2 years ago and he is just now trying the park again.
'Yeah, I'll get that cleaned up lickity-split. Speaking of lickity-split what do you say you and I meet up later, see what's going on? Just kidding. But seriously, I'm new in town, kinda lonely, looking for my parents..'

-3rd cracked right radius
-4th shattered femur and broken femural artiry life flight and 3 months no standing up
-5th shattered right radius and ulna
-6th brroken collerbone and 2 ribs

Beat This... I landed sketchy on a table, landed on my pole and SERIOUSLY sprained my pinky, it was sore and i re-injured it every week for the rest of the season. Also, same season, i worsened my skiiers thumb really badly, they hurt sometimes. I didn't have any downtime cuz i am a tough guy... you guys are all pussys for taking a couple months of for a 'broken vertibre' or a 'sternum snapped in half'. This other time i caught an edge, and face planted, i got a bloody nose. It hurt, it hurt bad.

I've been pretty lucky with ski injuries - just tweaked knees and bruises - ski sensibly people!

But I fucked up my arm really badly when I was 3 - I fell off a wall into concrete and snapped the humerus and one lower arm bone clean - my dad says it was like I had teo elbows. So I had a week in hospital and had two pins put in. And now I have a pretty sweet scar to show for it.

stage 3 separated shoulder at the end of january 2001. basically took me out to april, damn rehab time. for some reason the doctors fucked the x-rays and I didn't get surgery when i should have so my shoulder is still kinda fucked.

completely subloxed my kneecap(when it gets free in the joint and slides over to the side of your knee) fucking up a switch landing and that tore my mcl right in half, and completely annihilated the cartilidge beneath my knee cap. my kneecap was on the side of my leg for three hours before it decided to go back in place and from there my knee was locked up from all the torn cartilidge. i had to get an artificial kneecap because the doc had no way of repairing all the cartlidge dammage. i only got 5 days of skiing in during the 99/00 season. worst ever

i broke my knuckle by getting caught in the slush of a landing and then got into a car accident after and got stiches in my knee. i went back to skiing the weekend after i got the stiches out. i couldnt really jump because my knee didnt really bend but i tried anyway. by the next weekend my knee was basically back to normal.

i'm gonna have to follow jibberkid's lead almost to the letter......

1st: tib/fib (both bones in lower leg) cracked in half
2nd: Minor concussion, and what i think was a broken thumb..... i never had an xray for it, and it healed fine...... damn icy quarterpipes...
3rd: I fell onto the ungroomed side of a trail, the day after it had rained. This means it was a fucking ice skating rink at a 40 degree angle.
I ended up missing the only rope that might have saved me, and bounced off some rocks onto the really steep part of the trail. I then hit a snowmaker, and passed out, probably hitting a tree or two. When i got my shit together, my femur was snapped like a twig, and i had ripped my ACL clear off the bone. Doc's said i just missed my femoral artery by less than an inch, which would have killed me right on the hill.

i broke my femur after a backflip,13 screws and a titanium plate, 33 clamps, when i was allowed to ski again, i had just bought new skis and bindings cause mine didn't release and i had never used them before and the first thing i had to do was a downhill race...i totally sucked but i made it without crashing, later that day i checked if it would hurt landing jumps and it didn't, so i did all of those jumps again without fear because i knew it was not me who broke my femur but my binding...

ive nerver gotten actually hurt where i coudnt just get back up only once when i was trying some little streem gap i landed just on the know on the wall on the other side and nialed my faces into my knees then i cound talk just i also smacked my adoms apple so my friend thought i was jocking and left to to die. lol i was fine just scary also got a bloody mouth

i was at a competition when some guy was drink and already had three pins in his leg from a moto accident then he overshot the jump and brke his femur but when he landed the pins in his knee totally got ripped out and destroyed his knee it was disgus ting he broke ever ligament but 2 on his leg. plus his femur was stikin out

i did a cork 3 and didn't come out of it, cleared hte landing and landed sideways on my ass and wripped my crack open about 2 inches longer on each end. now when i drop a deuce i dont feel it at all which is sick cuz it comes out so easily. you should all try it. it's worth the short time pain.

hmmm, nobody mentioned this one yet, i collapsed both my lungs haha, that was a good time. also, i never went to the doctor for it or anything, but i am pretty sure i compressed my spine, cause i shrunk an inch from the beginning of the season, and also my hip is messed up, it pops out all the time now, which isnt cool

I tore my acl this year and missed the best spring, so I only got to ski 6 weeks this winter, which is better than none... for those of you who had acl surgery, the next year when you went back, how hard was it to start jumping and skiing hard again? What kind of rehab did you go through?

I broke a toe jumpin cliffs cause my boots were too loose (a few years ago). And I broke my tailbone again jumpin cliffs, but I landed on ice...those are ski injuries. For non-ski injuries, I split my chin on a teeter totter, I seem to get various injuries walking around my house (broken fingers, toes, bruies, cuts, sprains, etc), and then some concussions from the playground when I was in elementary school.
