how come some lenses are like 800 bucks and there are 50 dollar ones. whats the difference? and would a canon lens fit a sony camera or any other brand of lens?
More expensive lenses have less abberations. Prime lenses (non-zoom) are engineered so that all the elements eliminate as many abberations as possible.
When you have a zoom lens, they make a compromise. Basically it's like an all mountain ski which doesn't excel in either powder or park.
There's also lens material. The highest quality lens use rare earth minerals to create a clearer lens and also add certain "characteristics" to a lens.
Dude my friend got a fisheye from transworld magazine that fits everysingle camera with this lil adapter ring and it was like 50 bucks and its a nice fisheye
