what does it mean by blunt 5? is the the one where he grabs(safety or tail or something) and holds it the whole way or what?

there is no such thing as a blunt, just like there is no such thing as a toxic...a 'blunt' is a slide done on a skateboard and often imitated in buttering on a snowboard...when 'blunt' is used in skiing, which it should not be, it is a tail grab all the way at the very end of the tail, or 'true tail' as some refer to it...NOT BLUNT..

within a year or two no one with style will grab tail unless it is real tail, so we might as well quit calling the same trick two names (one with steez), and start grabbing our actual tail..

call it a blunt not a true tail.... you dont go around seeing people calling a saftey an 'true under the boot grab' or a mute a 'true across the front of your legs and pull' so its a blunt....

ski with a crew of snowboarders for a day, and they will see a difference between grabbing 'real tail' or just grabbing somewhere behind your binding, but not quite the actual tail.

when you say tail grab it should refer to grabbing the actual tail, and grabbing behind your boot should be refered to as 'weak ass shit'. 'tail grab' should mean what it says.

so you are telling me that every time some one grabs behind the boot but its not on the very end of the tail, its been weak ass shit? Well then, that means a good portion of the last three years of Jon Olsons, Candide's, Tanners, etc. etc. etc. tricks have weak ass shit.

That doesn't make sence to me. grab your fucking ski in a variety of places, it makes you a better skier.

Calling that grab Blunt is gay, very gay. It is a tail grab. They are both tail grabs, cause both you grab your tail, just watch the damn trick or look at the picture if you want to see what kind of tail grab it was, why do you guys need all these goddamn names. Like really, both ways 'toxic' and 'blunt' are just tail grabs, why do you need more clarification than that, if you want to see where he/she grabed just look at the fucking trick. Same with people calling everything corked, goddamn, if something is of axis by like 10 degress everyone is calling if a freaking cork, you need to be pretty close to horizontal for it to be a cork. Pep's spins over the crevasses in Front Line, especially over the first crevasse, I would certainly just call that a 7, not a cork 7.

id say if ur off axis, its corked, cuz its not straight. and the reason i give blunt recognition is because its WAY harder then ur average tail grab. to grab the very tip of the ski is sooo hard, especially during a trick, like mickaels cork 5

being able to grab different parts of your ski intentionally def. makes you more creative and a way better skier cuz it shows you have more control over your body and your skis. and you cant say that blunt is retarted cuz its used by skateboarders as a grind name cuz so are a lot of other tricks. i guees your saying that we shouldnt call mutes, mutes anymore? cuz skateboarding, snowboarding and inline skating all have tricks called mutes and im sure a few other sports do as well. it doesnt really matter what you call a trick but different grabs should have different names so toxic, tail and blunt should really stick around as separte grabs. just dont argue about them, let it be.
