Just moved here. What's the word on the local ski scene. Most importantly where's the backcountry? Im tryin to hike and hit cliffs. From the east, so anything better than that is a start.
is there a san diego backcountry? My guess is that you'll have to go to the san bernadino mountains to get any backcountry. fyi the best backcountry is in nor cal
are you talking about a different san diego than in cali or maybe you got them confused or someting. take up surfing or hopping the boarder to mexico or something cause i dont think ull be riding a lot
when we get big storms sometimes there is powder on palomar mtn in north sd county.
hard to find anything big to ski there, but some fun hills when the cover is good.
HEY buddy, I live here too. THere's no backcountry in this neck of the woods. Closes backcounty is mammoth which is super legit. If you're looking for cliffs try sunset cliffs, there's a couple of good drops out there, if you're looking for some fun cliff jumpers to ocean
agreed. san gergornio is huge theres actually some pretty fun backcountry out behind bear or summit. if u know the area it can be fun. some good canyons.
If you're down for a drive there's Mammoth & June Lake, but that'll be about 7 good hours from you. If you're looking at taking a serious vacation though it's most definitely worth it.
There is some decent backcountry in the San Gabriel Mountains which are directly east of LA. There is plenty of steep they just don't get that many storms. Its worth checking out though
