well, we know he isnt a racer. Since God forbid we have respect for ski racers. After all, racing isnt skiing, and it doesnt generate all the money for marketing in skiing.

first off, get over it. If you dont like racing, thats ur opinion. The least you can do is have respect for your fellow skier.

in response to the post, everybody likes to go fast. Next season do it switch.

Some of the best in the world came out of racing. Jon Olsson and Henrik Weinsted still race to keep FIS points! Also, before there was mogul skiing, there was racing. Ski racing is the root of competitive skiing.

Some racers have attitudes, but so do a lot of newschool type skiers. Dont jump to saying that racing is gay, or that all racers are gay because it makes you look like an ignorent poser.

i dont know im probably wrong but whatever, i think a lot of racers look and sometimes talk arrogant (sometimes they don't but its still perceived by someone on the opposing side), as opposed to some 'newschoolers' who just talk like they are the best shit out there and drag on everyone else

Most of the worlds best skiers are racers or former racers. Take any park rat today and put him head to head against bottem level world cup racer and see who is a better overall skier...

i dunno, the racers I know are pretty cool. This one guy started humping this really high/drunk snowboarder and they stole her glasses and stuff. She was like 'where are my glasses!' it was hilarious. Then they had to run around the parking lot for using the timberline hot tub when it's only supposed to be used for guests. So don't go around saying racers are gay. Some might be a lil cocky, but as somebody already said, some newschoolers do the same thing.

Sure, I'm not a racer, but if I had the time to do it with my school, then I probably would.

what you do doesn't define you. I think almost everyone here likes to go as fast as they can down everything. It's just fun. I don't think there is any other way to ski. It's the best wehen you can make 50+ mph look like slow motion in the backcountry as you fly down a shoot, carve some pow, and then drop a good cliff or pillow line, and don't look back until you get back on the lift or start hiking back to the top. It's all about doing what you love.

it's a lot of fun..and a good change from the park..
some racer's are dicks and rip on the newschool kids (and vice versa)..but most of the kids i race with think newschool skiing's really sweet..

ya, it's fun to go as fast as you can down a hill. It's dumb though if you don't know how to control yourself when you ski. I've never actually hit anybody, but I'm come extremely close.

wow, i dont see why people dont have respect for racers. Its ridiculous really. Racing is fun and I used to do it. The only thing I didnt like about it was that you can get burned out way to fast because your coaches are pushing you all the time and you never get a chance to do what you want. It makes you a better skier and is fun respect it.

try skiing down a run with only one ski on, both left and right feet, then you'll have respect for racers cuz they have to do that shit and it can be hella hard.

people, now i cant say that i NEVER do that becuase sometimes even other
people make a comment and then that totally gives you a new view on the
topic and maybe could even change youre opinion on it you know ?

yeah, straightlining is fun sometimes, you can go so fucking fast, then when you come to a face with moguls on the other side, i love jumping into the moguls then like trying to clear as many as i can, you get so much distance its so tite

i like getting a tonof speed and doin a huge g-turn at the bottom to see how far i can get back up the hill. the g-force is a rush. 1 ski is fun too, but it burns after a while. first time i did it, i was doin it all day and at the end of the day i saw a guy with an amputaded leg and felt bad. i smoked him

speed is a great rush, but not straightlining sorry but thats just not as much funcarry as much speed as you can and do gs turns right on the rollers and try to hold your edges to the snow and not take a dive great fun.

to mammotpunks: i live in ct and the mountian are really small but i go to vermont at mount snow and i do it there but one trail in ct is big enough to to it i went as fast as i could down that and the was a fence in the trail i was like OH SHIT and missed it by like 6 inches go 40 mph
