im gonna try to not be an asshole about this, but whats with all the kids that are all 'fuck the gov.' and shit, the music they listen to says this and that about it, and then they go hardcore on it, i think its pretty gay, if u think about it, if we didnt have teh government we (US) have, wed all be pretty fucked right now, who knows what the country would be like, i can see how u may disagree with something the government says or does, but theres kids that would like to see congress up in flames and anarchy in the us for no decent reason, and think about this, the government that we got freedom from 200 years ago would probly have u hung for treason just for saying something like fuck the government, i just dont understand the whole thing, anyone want to shed light on this for me?

I don't understand it either. I can see how they might not like some of the things he government is doing, but ya, things would definately be screwed up w/o it. I think some people are just dumb and will jump on the bandwagon if they see it coming their way.

Don't hate on punk, if you aren't into the music you're gonna say the music all sounds the same because you aren't within it to get the intracacies or whatever. an anarchist would say we don't need those roads. My buddy is an anarchist. he has some pretty weird veiws, but he is also more informed than most of the people on this site.

Anarchy=the absence of any sort of social heirachies. So we don't just hate the governments, we hate anyone who thinks there any better than other people coz they got money or 'power'. In the case of governments we express our hate, because they kill people, they exploit people, just because they have 'interests' in these countries, places or people. It all boils down to money and greed, the rich politicians are just extreme versions of greed which is covered up by the government as 'national security'
Well thats why im an anachist coz i don't like people thinking there better than other people to make them feel good about there selves, why not help other people out, that would make you feel better wouldn't it? It does for me!

And punk music is just many people in the same scene, its diversity, the governments biggest fear, coz they may not be able to control us...

First of all I need to say this, all punk dose not sound the same, you just dont like the music there for you dont listen to it very often i assume, so therefor you havent been able to discover how it can be different.

As the government thing, sure it sucks, but I agree that way to many people get carried away with the hate the goverment attitued.

But consider this, what fun would it be if everyone loved the goverment? At lest these type of people that you speak of bring diversity to society.

If there was no government, most people wouldn't be in school unless they could pay for private school. People would be so uneducated and so basically we would all be mindless fools like so many dropouts already are. Yah, the government is doing some pretty screwed up things, but don't say that you've never made any stupid mistakes or done something stupid intentionally. The only difference with this is that they're decisions effect more than just a few people. Don't go saying that there should be no government when you obviously haven't looked into all that the government actually does for you and provides for you.

i think the problem has become our inability to live without sanctions to prevent us from robbing our neighbours. why can't we all live a harmonious life in the absence of all sorts of preventative measures? what have we become that we can't function as a society without feeling the need to swindle our fellow wo/man?

sweetcoz, I don't exactly follow. When's the last time man has lived without sanctions as a larger community. What have we become seems like a bad question when it has always been the case of humans to act this way. Most sociological studies show that it is the certainty, not the severity of punishment that works to deter deviance. With no certainty of punishment, deviance would escalate beyond belief among humans.

I think without a proper government, some crazy asshole would take charge of the country and would make us into a dictatorship. And when people bitch about the government and say anarchy this anarchy that it's because they don't like what the government is doing and thats their excuse. For kids its besically because they think beind rebellious agaisnt the gouvernment is cool; truthfully most of these kids are stupid jackasses.

theres a commnly known cycle that goes by the name of the human predicament that illustrates this little conversation... there is a cycle that exists throughout history that goes anarchy, reform, dictatorship, revolution, anarchy, etc etc... this has always been the way it has happened and it is the way it will always happen. the fact that the U.S. has had the (for the most part) the same constitution, the same type of government, etc etc for over two hundred years (longest standing government without revolution in the modern era, perhaps ever) is an increadible thing. the government was drawn up in such a way that it is a flexible government, and thus has endured the changing times and ideas that have come and gone since 1776. its really remarkable... so before you bash it, thank god you (americans) have it, and if theres a problem, i urge you to refer to my earlier post.

gravteck, ya.. that was quite the drunken and poorly formed post. i find often when i get hammered, i tend to go off on somewhat pessimistic rants.. anyways, i still feels it's unfortunate that all animals can't go-exist harmoniously amongst one another.

if only we could somehow use all that we have made from our surroundings not to try to take over our fellow man, but to work together to further ourselves as a species, then we would have a much better chance at continuing the pursuit of what really matters.. intergalactic space travel. that and large scale matter transportation. i want to see those two advances in my lifetime.

People who think we NEED a government are narrow. Governments just make it easy - they are a half assed cop-out. You have 'freedom' but only enough to keep you satisfied. A government only gives you enough of anything to be satisfied enough that you aren't rioting. And if you are satisfied with living with whatever hand the gov. deals you, then you will live a blissful, but very ignorant life. I for one am not satisfied and think there are better options.

For starters, money doesnt grow on trees. You think the government just builds roads and sewers with imaginary money? No, we all pay for it, which means that society as a whole not only has the funds, but also a desire to have roads and sewers. All the government does is collect and allocate the money and take a princely sum for themselves. What I say is, ditch the gov. the private sector can handle it. then you paying workers, not expensive politicians and you are turning a profit.

If people want roads and plumbing and skyscrapers, they can have them. I think its funny how people think the only reason we have roads is because the government forced people to build them and forced people to pay for them.

another thing, people think anarchy means looting and burning - thats what the government says because they're scared of what would happen if people actually knew waht it was all about. Let me just say there are far more misinformed people out there than actual textbook anarchists. The frustrating thing is most real anarchists dont even know they are anarchists, because they adhere to the 'media' description of anarchy and consider themselves conservatives to avoid ridicule. Yup the government has once again done a terific job of protecting their asses - you say the word anarchy and people automatically think you're a crackpot.

One more thing, America being over 200 years old isnt shit - the Roman Empire stood something like 2000 years and its impact can still be easily seen in modern politics. In fact, the US gov. is based almost entirely on the Roman system. Chinese and Russian emperors also had a way longer run than the US currently has.

ok people are greedy the private sector would become its own government. there would be no labor laws and you wouldnt make squat for money. gevernments are necessary but to what extent are they necessary is the question. some people are just plain demented and would not adhere to natural law. once you have read any JOHN LOCKE and think about it and todays world then come on here and talk about anarchy.

people are assholes because they have been stipped of power and true freedom. A result of government power is generations of people incapable of making responsible decisions. The government must then take steps to buffer people from each other. People fear one another and the decisions they make. Nobody has any tolerance. Laws are used to control individuals that arent considered 'normal'. I'm not saying an anarchist condition could be brought about overnight, I'm saying people have been oppressed by governments for over 3000 years, it could take another 3000 years for people to learn to live without them if we started today. thats not to say it wouldnt be worth it.

In regards to companies or individuals taking over, every system has its weaknessess, for a democracy its apathy, for anarchy its organized groups seeking power and people would have to be vigilant to protect their freedom. thats the price of freedom - everybody wants it, nobody wants to pay for it, or even work towards it. the government tells you that you have freedom and that you should thank them for it, but are you really free? Couldnt we have more? Dont you even want to consider the POSSIBILITY that isnt true? Or will you take the easy way and just shut up and vote and pay taxes because you are too busy to worry about changing the world?

The authority and everithing is just misinform you all about anarachy and anti-capitalist and goverment ppl. They all don't want you to know all this shit because you will be a good citizen and vote and pay taxes and doesn't think about changing the world. I think that Anarchy is a cool thing but it's kind utopia. It would make giant wars with capitalist countries, dictatorial countries and some free countries, the communist and anarchists ones. I mean it's like almost impossible the human gotta change or I don't know because with anarchy some will just exploit some ppl. Power corrupt every human juste like money now because it give power in our actual society this is why I think we should eliminate money. I think another way like a mix of anarchy and socialism. I think that we shouldn't have any boss. Just like the ppl are the boss. I mean with my way of thinkin it would make small countries of about 100000 maximum ppl
not to much to be in a true democratic life. They all rule each others. to Make a law every1 vote for it. And to make the cops you just make a Militia to apply all the rules and defend your country. So I think it wouldn't have all this bad thing with the add of democracy. And there won't be no workin ppl because i'm sure that ppl won't like to see other doesn't work because they are lazy it will be work like you want but work or be kicked well I think.
