Defining Trick

In most other sports there is a trick, or feat that once done, seperates you from others. For example, you arent a 'great' basketball player until you can dunk. In your opinion, is there any trick that seperates good skiers from bad skiiers?

a 360 with a grab


why are doves the international symbols of peace? why not pillows? they have 2 times as many feathers and not that dangerous beak!

are you fucking dumb, you dont have to be able to dunk to be great and once you dunk your not great, what kind of basketball have you been watching, i know some tall ass kid in my school who can dunk, and he sucks, and someone like mugsey bouges can barely dunk and he is a sick basketball player

i'd say a 360 grab or a big 180...i find big 180's harder than 360's now because switch landings are something different

360 grab AND being able to make a rail your bitch. if you want to compare skiing to bball dunking is like making a turn on a groomer while a dope ass crossover is more like a 360 grab and being a sick passer or rebounder is like cleaning a rail

I think with skiing its a backflip.. it may not be the hardest trick in the book but I bet its one of the most defining..

Yeah, definitly agree with Ds91260. You gotta be able to see the sick shit and huck the drops. On the jibbin side of things, its the rail slide.

i like to ride park just as much if not more than the next guy, but anyone who can stand up and knows how to throw a spin can hit a jump and do a 3 safety, and any fruit booter can slide rail, but that dosnt make u a good skier

switch, when a rider can take off, land, railslide etc. switch it seperates him form the normal vision of skiers...

switch tricks, mogul skiers can do 360 grabs and such but there not newschool. switch tricks seperate us from the norm.

inverted or corked stuff. you spend all of your time before you can do them, thinking about them and once stick them it opens up a whole new aspect skiing, not just how many rotations you can spin.

Yeah, probably an invert. And in the area of spinning. Id say 540s. Cuz everyone can 3, but 540s are something you dont see everywhere.

OK, almost all, about 99% of the pro basketball players can dunk. But anyways, i think the 'defining' trick for ppl, is the backflip. There's just something so nice about it, as mike douglas says, its sexy.

I think hes getting to what makes you 'great' not good. NA players are all great or they wouldnt be there. I would say the trick that all great skiers can throw is the Dspin every pro has that in his back pocket

not every pro can do a d-spin, why does everybody think d-spins are like THE trick. if you can d-spin then you kick ass or something, it doesnt make sense. Skogen Sprang can't d-spin and will own all of you any day of the week including myself.
