Installing New Video Card

I just bought a Radeon 9550 256mb video card for my computer so I could run some games a bit smoother. I'm not sure if my system reconizes my card because one of my games won't run because it doesn't have a compatable card (did the same thing for the old card). Is there something that I need to do in order for my card to work or should it work as soon as I plug it into the computer? One of my games will run the Radeon 9500, 9600 but it doesn't say anything about my 9550 so will it not work?

did it come with an installation cd? most of the time windows XP will recognize new hardware and automatically isntall it and its drivers but sometimes hardware comes with drivers that need to be manually installed. check control pannel>add hardware and follow the wizard. scroll through the list of installed and other components in the list and see if its there
