Ohkay, so, time to get down to buisness. As most of you guys know, its getting around the prime time to buy your ski gear for next season. And I need opinions here.
I'm 14 years old, an agressive all-mountain skier, (will not venture into a park due to the fact we don't have one) 160 pounds, 6'2.
Originally i was considering the Gotamas in 183, Mojo 105 in 181. Then i decided that it may be a tad short for me so i changed my views and began considering the 190 length. But I'm a little scared of going that lenght because I'm worried i won't be able to handle it. So now i want to go a little lower.
My Choices are:
187 MSP Supermodel (last years)
J.P. VS Julien (doubt it)
'07 Prophet 100 186.
I'm mostly feeling the Prophet, but any insight on my predicament would be greatly appreciated.

i know from talking to anthony boronowski that the jp vs julien is more of a ski for people just entering backcountry and the ant pro model is more for people who rip harder.if you want to really rip it up go with the ant

well one thing i've learned while on this site was that most people are happier when they go bigger with skis. i've heard numerous stories about people going bigger than they thought they could handle, but then loved it. 187 seems like good and you could prob go a little more. i wish i could help out more but i can't

Try the 190 Gots. you are big and should be able to handle most skis out there.

190 Gotamas or 191 ANTs if you want to go a bit stiffer. Don't get short skis, they suck and you'll regret it every day. I'm an inch shorter than you and the same weight and I got some 186 mojo 90's and proceeded to kick myself the rest of the season for not getting the 193's. Keep in mind that you'll probably grow some more since you're still a young'n, too.

Yes ur tall but no ur not heavy. Wieght is what allows you to bend the ski this weight mostly comes from musscle. Im almost half a foot shorter then you and weigh more than you. you should be happy on the 186 Gots, 191 Ants as the tips are softer this year to give a smoother float, i dont think the ants will be too long as there effective edge length is around 175 so ur' actually skiing alot smaller. The Gots will feel bigger as they have a smaller twin if you'r thinking of the 07' ones, the blk 06' ones ski small and were softened but the 07' is stiffer. I would chose the Gots if you'r not goin to be skiing switch much and the ants if u are. I know that was abit all over the place and a fair rant but i thought u should be as well informed as possible before you drop the cash as aposed to after.

they only come in 183, 190. If they were a 186, i'd get them right away.

190 Mojo 105. You will learn to handle it and it will make you such a good skier. As you bulk up and gain weight over the next year or two it will become much easier to handle.
It will make you badass.

Yeah dude, you won't regret going longer, I'm 6'4" and 160 and if you're a competent skier, you'll be able to handle a ski around 190, and it will be more stable and float better. Just rememebr that short skis hold you back, you can only be as good as your skis let you, go long.

I would agree.. go with the prophet. But consider a 179 instead of the 186.. only b/c you're not that heavy.. and a 186 is a lot to push around with 100 underfoot.
All times are Eastern (-4)
